Barberry acquires site for business park development in Worcestershire

An exciting multi-million-pound new business park is set to be created in the West Midlands following the acquisition of a 15-acre development site by Barberry Developments.

The leading property investor and developer today announced it has acquired the site at Bluebell Farm, Pershore Road, Earls Croome, in Worcestershire, for an undisclosed sum.

With a proposed employment allocation in the South Worcestershire Development Plan Review, the site will accommodate up to 225,000 sq ft (20,900 sq m) of newly developed warehouse, factory or office space. Build to suit units will be offered in varied, bespoke sizes for specific occupier requirements, available either on an occupational lease or on a freehold sale basis.

The proposed business park demonstrates Barberry’s continued commitment to the region, acquiring sites that will attract investment and create further new jobs.

Barberry Developments director Martyn Cartwright unveiled the company’s plans to deliver a high quality business park on the site. He said: “Here at Barberry we are enormously excited to announce the acquisition of another outstanding West Midlands development site. Worcester is already home to many major occupiers such as Worcester Bosch, Mazak and GTech and we believe our new development will attract other significant occupiers.”

Fisher German is retained as sole agent for the scheme. Partner Richard Tomlinson said: “We are already in discussions with a number of local, regional and national companies who are interested in the opportunities to develop buildings to their own requirements in what is an excellent location in terms of logistics, being close to both the M5 and M50. Barberry Business Park will help to bridge the gap in the shortfall of high-quality freehold employment accommodation.”

Martyn added: “The acquisition of Bluebell Farm is another example of Barberry Group delivering on our investment and development strategy, with a focus on sectors with strong long-term growth drivers.”

The proposed Barberry Business Park lies adjacent to the A38 at the recently upgraded junction with the A4104, approximately 1.5 miles to the north of J1 M50 in south Worcestershire. The A38 provides access to the city of Worcester and the M50, with wider connectivity to the Midlands and South West via the M5 and south Wales via the M50.

Barberry has a 2.4 million sq ft industrial/logistics development pipeline with a Gross Development Value of more than £355 million. The company has 500 acres of strategic residential and employment development land across 12 sites under its control and a growing income producing commercial and residential portfolio.
